COP28 brought both victories and setbacks and now we are in Bonn to continue to insist on the necessary systemic change. The long-awaited Loss and Damage Fund (LDF) was finally established after more than 30 years of negotiation. However, achieving climate justice requires holding polluters accountable, centering the voices of those most affected, and reforming the exploitative global economic system. Until June 13, at least 13 ESCR-Net members are in Bonn, Germany, for the 60th session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB60) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to lay the groundwork for decisions to be taken at COP29 in Azerbaijan. While recognizing that corporations are increasingly co-opting these multilateral spaces of negotiation, our presence continues to be a way of resisting this form of corporate capture. La Ruta del Clima created this Participation Guide to help focus SB60 on crucial issues. The Environment and ESCR Working Group continue to facilitate and co-organise with members and allies to actively engage with the SB60.
